Philip, both RVC (Random Video Chat) and CRC (Chat Roulette Clone) are built with Adobe Flash Builder 4. We have a previous version RVC 4.0 and prior, built with Adobe Flex 3 that is compatible with Flex3 plugin.
If you import the 4.0 version into Flex Builder 3 (or alternative), it will work. By simply replacing .mxml, .as and some resource files (Copy-Paste) you will have the latest version in Flex 3. It is a little overcomplicated but possible.
Can I build using Adobe Flex SDK instead of Flex Builder which would cost me at least $249?
If so, can I use Flex 3 instead of Flex 4 SDK (Aptana Studio supports only Flex3 plugin, not Flex4)?

Does this system support the idea of recording/playback of an audio/video chat session that has occurred between two people? I’d like to save the chat in order to play it back later.
Diego, you can choose one of the video servers Red5 or free Cirrus (former Stratus); it is a setting in config.php. When using Red5, the connections will be considerably faster but you will face an elevated bandwidth usage on your server. Using both simultaneously is not an option unless you wish to divide your chat users in two groups. To see the speed difference, test Red5 (with 2-3 browsers or different PCs): http://www.jabbercam.com/Red5 (there is our recommendation).

rainer, the first issue can be caused by many thing. Try turning off the firewall for testing. If you use the CRC on a subdomain, the .htaccess file is not needed (delete).
ive installed the jabbercam and chat works between computers inside the same network as i am. but when i try to chat with someone outside my local network, it says no one was found, or sometimes timeout.
could it be some sort of security error.
also, i noticed that the .htaccess file required www prefix, but my website has url like this

How can I go about fixing this and is it a known error?

Niels, what is the language file you are using? I am referring to the name (lang_NN) and extension (.ini or .xml). Versions after 4.5 use .ini files, not the .xml

mataleao, this is an issue with the new Adobe Flash Builder 4. The software was created with Flex Builder 3, it seems like a compatibility or installation issue.
